Alicia Monedero is an artist and educator based in London. She is interested in individual and collective memory using photography to make work that is connected with our own perceptions, emotions and experiences. Alicia collaborates with individuals wishing to express their internal reality and lived experiences, and organisations engaging with communities to create photographic and participatory joint projects.
Alicia has worked across different levels of education in the UK. She is a qualified and trained teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Fellow of the Advance Higher Education Academy (FSHE) currently working at the University of the Arts London as an associate lecturer, teaching on the UAL-wide Academic Support programme and within the Academic Support service at Central Saint Martins.
Prior to her career in in Higher and Further Education, Alicia acquired extensive experience within business development, which included managerial and senior positions in multinational companies across several industries. This knowledge and skills combined with her qualifications as a learning and development practitioner (CTP/CIPD) and professional coach led her to carry out consultancy projects for SMEs, in collaboration with public institutions and within the Third Sector enabling her to consider the educational, business and fundraising needs of organisations as well as those of individuals.
Alicia attended university in the UK and Spain completing studies in Business, Education, Fine Art and Photography. Her workshops, with an emphasis on wellbeing focus on the creative process using a variety of mediums and techniques to expand knowledge, transform ideas and create a more self-aware approach to artistic/community practice, studies and professional performance.
